Make it your own
Read 00-START-HERE.txt, then use the Windows launcher or open the app in Chrome or Edge. Add your business details and start creating.
Your first start
- Save the ZIP file to your computer. Keep a copy of your original download.
- Extract the ZIP completely. On Windows, right-click the ZIP and choose “Extract All”.
- Keep the extracted folder somewhere permanent, such as a folder in Documents.
- Read 00-START-HERE.txt in the extracted folder.
- On Windows, double-click 01-OPEN-AFTERREADY.cmd. This opens AfterReady in installed Chrome or Edge.
- To open manually, start desktop Chrome or Edge, press Ctrl+O (or use File → Open File) and select App/AfterReady.html. On Mac or Linux, use the browser’s Open File command. The Windows launcher is for Windows only.
- Add your business details, then create a sample document and check it before using it for a customer.
- Make a full backup regularly. Keep backup files somewhere safe.
Windows opens Notepad instead?
Use 01-OPEN-AFTERREADY.cmd or open App/AfterReady.html from inside Chrome or Edge. AfterReady runs in your browser; editing the HTML file in Notepad is not part of setup.
Upgrading, moving folders or changing browsers?
Create a full backup from your existing workspace before moving or replacing anything. Keep the old copy until you have restored the backup in the new copy and checked your customers, jobs, invoices and stored PDFs. Browser records do not travel automatically with the app folder, and moving the HTML file can create a separate workspace.
Sending a PDF?
Create the document, save it and attach it using your own email service. Sending needs an internet connection. Browser email links cannot attach a PDF automatically.
